# 70 in Songs that Became Abbot

# 70 - Jackson Browne - Fountain of Sorrow

Just got back from a flea market. Found the album where this song is from for 2 euros. Man, oh man, the undervaluing of true talent sometimes works for me.

Jackson Browne is one of the songwriters whose ability to compose - really compose - a song is par none. When added the superb lyrics and the sense of melody only Carcass can compete with, you've got something.

I used to listen to Jackson Browne a lot.

Once, after working on a cruise ship for a few days I came back home totally shitfaced on a train, listening to a Jackson Browne collection back in the pre-iPod days (on my Creative MuVO, that could easily fit two whole LP's!). A guy who also worked on the boat asked what I was listening to. I gave him my earbuds. He liked it.

"I thought a guy who looks like you would at least be listening to Nirvana", he said.

There are many sides to us, my friends, and to the music we love - and should, and could love.

Here's to Jackson.
